I haven't seen it, so I'm going by your descriptions. But what I'm hearing sounds a lot like what happens when patriarchy is taken out of the mix. This tends to be more prevalent in queer spaces, but it's not necessarily related to identity or orientation. It sounds like a great take on what it looks like to not be in a patriarchal system!
