Oof I see this a lot. It boggles me when interviewers disregard social skills, or when people think they can excel at development without social skills.

It seems to me the big difference between a horrid 10x developer and a delightful 10x developer is where they source their obsession from. Most 10x-ish developers I've met enjoy the feeling of power they get from building incredible code castles. When you find one that does so from the feeling of joy at serving well -- serving business and fellow/future developers -- it can be a lot of fun.
