You’ve made my point for me.

The more I’ve been willing to sniff out the lies I’ve made to myself, the ones I make to pretend that I’m okay with who I am and what I’ve done, the easier it’s been to sniff out people who lie. You postulate that honest people can’t sniff out liars. That’s a false assumption. Liars stink to honest people. We can’t help but smell it.

As a result, I’ve never ended up at a bad company, because they stink. The companies I’ve worked at have been fantastic. And I’ve never had to lie in any of them.

It only sounds like a fairy tale if you give up on yourself. It is a long, hard, painful road to get to integrity. But the payoff is incredible.
